The Philippine Government is providing small subsistence farmers with free insurance coverage for various agricultural and non-agricultural assets through the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) until 2022.
PCIC will cover losses to rice, corn, high-value crops, livestock, fisheries, and others caused by natural disasters.
This is part of the government’s efforts to motivate farmers and safeguard food production against the effects of climate change.
