The Lao PDR Rice Research Center is helping improve the country’s agricultural productivity through its research and innovative technologies.
The country produces up to one million tons of rice every year and as a result has become self-sufficient, according to the government.
The Lao People’s Democratic Republic Rice Policy Study in 2012 stated that since the country has moved from rice deficit to sizable surplus, it is focusing to address nutritional benefits.
