Adapting proper technologies and equipment will enable the agriculture sector to survive the pandemic, the secretary of the Philippine Department of Agriculture said during the 11th National Rice Technology Forum.
The event also held ceremonial harvesting of different varieties of hybrid rice inside the department’s 100-hectare regional demonstration farm in Mindanao.
The secretary recognized the farmers who have planted hybrid rice and are expecting to harvest up to eight tons per hectare.
