A number of Japanese farm manufacturers are optimistic about the role of smart and automated machinery in keeping Japan’s agriculture sector alive.
Because fewer people in the country are going into farming manufacturers are rolling out “smart” machines like the driverless rice transplanters, combine harvesters, hullers, graders, and robot farm tractors.
Although more expensive than their traditional counterparts, the manufacturers believe that Japanese farmers will have little choice as the availability of farm machine operators continue to drop.
