Kenyan farmers were encouraged to adopt granular compound fertilizer formulated for rice to increase their crop yield.
Most farmers use traditional forms of fertilizers with limited nutrients while the new type of provides nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and sulfur, according to experts.
A report presented to Water and Irrigation Chief Administrative secretary showed yields increased substantially after farmers use crop-specific fertilizers at various stages of crop growth.
