Rice on TikTok: 1st Tinawon Rice Festival in Ifugao, Philippines

Tinawon refers to local rice varieties grown in the province of Ifugao in the Philippines. Tinawon rice means “annual rice” referring to the long cultivation period of the varieties.  According to local myths, tinawon rice was a gift from Liddum, god of the Skyworld and the god of plenty, and is sometimes called the Skyworld rice.
