The Thai Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry confirmed that farmers will not be prohibited from growing rice despite water scarcity.
However, the ministry advised farmers to minimize water consumption as water levels in reservoirs across the country are low and the rainy season is about to end.
Meanwhile, the Department of Agricultural Extension will promote the cultivation of other crops that require less water.
